About this piece

The Story Behind the Piece With their distinguished bearded brows, inquisitive eyes, and spirited personalities, Miniature Schnauzers possess a captivating blend of intelligence, charm, and steadfast loyalty. They are vigilant protectors, spirited playmates, and devoted lap companions all in one. This handcrafted wooden mini tray captures that unmistakable character through an intimate, fine-art portrait of a salt-and-pepper Schnauzer. Captured in a moment of quiet attentiveness, the dog looks directly forward with warm, soulful eyes framed by iconic feathered eyebrows and a full, soft beard. To transform this expressive portrait into an heirloom-quality dimensional keepsake, the artwork is embedded beneath an ultra-glossy layer of optical-grade epoxy resin. The liquid-glass pour magnifies every fine detail—from the soft texture of the silver-grey coat to the expressive warmth of the muzzle—giving the piece deep visual resonance and a luminous, protected surface. Enclosed within a rich, dark walnut-stained timber tray featuring carved cutout handles, this piece brings together functional artisan woodworking and timeless pet portraiture. Artisanal Craftsmanship & How It’s Made Every tray is individually shaped, sealed, and poured by hand through a dedicated multi-phase process prioritizing archival quality and longevity: Precision Woodcrafting: The tray frame is built from solid natural timber, featuring clean mitered joins and smoothly contoured cutout side handles. It is hand-sanded to a satin touch and finished in a rich, dark walnut stain that accentuates the organic grain swirls and natural wood texture. Archival Art Preparation: The Schnauzer portrait is printed using professional-grade, fade-resistant pigment inks on heavy acid-free archival substrate, ensuring true-to-life tones that will not yellow or fade over time. Mounting & Edge Sealing: The print is securely affixed to the interior baseboard and sealed around all borders to lock the artwork flat and prevent any air bubbles from escaping during the pour. Deep Resin Pour & Curing: High-clarity, UV-resistant art resin is measured, blended, and poured into the well. The surface is hand-torched with precision to release all micro-bubbles, yielding a mirror-like finish. It cures across several days inside a dust-free chamber to form an impermeable, rock-hard shield that protects the art against dust, spills, and daily handling.
