Dalmatian Dog Resin Wood Mini Tray Art, Handcrafted Timber Portrait Catchall Dish, Coach Dog Desk Decor & Wall Plaque Keepsake Gift

About this piece

The Story Behind the Piece Distinguished, energetic, and historically celebrated as the quintessential coach dog, the Dalmatian holds an iconic place in canine history. Beyond their striking spotted coats, Dalmatians are revered for their boundless stamina, watchful intelligence, and affectionate loyalty to their families. This handcrafted wooden mini tray honors that noble spirit with a lifelike portrait of a handsome Dalmatian poised with quiet attentiveness. Standing poised with soft drop ears, a keen, intelligent gaze, and distinctive spots decorating its strong frame, the dog is set against an earthy, abstracted backdrop of warm sienna, slate, and mahogany tones. To transform this classic canine portrait into a functional heirloom-quality piece, the scene is permanently submerged beneath a thick, water-clear layer of artisan epoxy casting resin. The high-gloss pour creates an enchanting liquid-glass lens—enhancing depth and contrast, highlighting every crisp spot, and locking the artwork under a durable, mirror-smooth seal. Framed in a uniquely sculpted natural timber tray featuring side portal accents and curved cutout end handles, this piece brings together functional woodworking and fine pet portraiture to celebrate a truly unforgettable breed. Artisanal Craftsmanship & How It’s Made Every tray is individually assembled, styled, and poured by hand through a dedicated multi-phase technique prioritizing archival quality and lasting durability: Precision Woodworking & Shaping: The tray frame is crafted from solid natural timber, featuring clean mitered joins, sculpted cutout side handles, and circular portal accents along the walls. The wood is hand-sanded to a satin touch and finished in a weathered espresso stain that accentuates the organic grain texture and natural wood character. Archival Art Preparation: The Dalmatian portrait is printed using professional-grade, fade-resistant pigment inks on heavy acid-free archival substrate, guaranteeing deep blacks, warm earth tones, and crisp whites that will not yellow or discolor over time. Mounting & Edge Sealing: The print is securely affixed to the interior baseboard and sealed along all perimeter borders, creating an airtight barrier that prevents edge-lifting or bubble release during the pour. Deep Resin Flood Coat & Curing: High-clarity, UV-resistant epoxy casting resin is carefully measured, blended, and poured into the tray well. The surface is treated with controlled heat to release all micro-bubbles, yielding a glass-smooth mirror finish. The piece cures over multiple days in a dust-controlled chamber to form an impermeable, rock-hard shield that protects the artwork against dust, spills, and handling.
