Making process: Throughout the year I collect and dry plants in a classic way for the herbarium. When the plants are dry, I sort them according to the collection. I prepare ceramic tiles, arrange the plants in the design and fix them with polyresin. This is a time-consuming and delicate job. Once the plants are fixed, I cover the tiles with polyresin layers until the plants are completely covered and protected. Last layers are for extra protection. Real plants in this form are something special. No thing can replace nature in all its perfect imperfection. Therefore, no two tiles can be identical. Each one is unique. Sensitivity: Grouting and cleaning: The classic glazing process would burn the plants, so the tiles are not glazed, but covered with hard resin top layer. The protective top layer is solid, hard gloss varnish, scratch resistant, but still sensitive to aggressive scratches. For extra protection you will receive each tile protected by a protective foil, which you remove after grouting. Tiles are UV and water resistant. Tiles are scratch resistant, chemical resistant and heat resistant up to 70 oC / 158 oF. Tiles were home tested with different cleaners. Its safe to use liquid cleaners, including bleach. Base tile is wall tile and was made in El Barco, Spain. Tiles are good quality, can be layed and grouted or just glued without mid space. Tiles are also available in the following sizes: 10 x 10 cm = 3.93" x 3.93" 15 x 15 cm = 5,9" x 5.9" 20 x 50 cm = 7.87" x 19.68" 20 x 60 cm = 7.87" x 23.62" For any questions I am here for you.
